10/11/10  Marilac, Brazil  - Dimas Da Silva, (left) owes his good quality of life in impoverished Marilac, Brazil to the years spent working illegally at a Boston, MA pizzeria: The Upper Crust. Now a painter and general handyman, he feels indebted to The Upper Crust for providing him with a job that has financed his current lifestyle. Much of the money in this poor town comes from remittances from workers illegally in the United States, including more than 80 workers who have been employed by The Upper Crust in the past 10 years.

This is the story of the complicated relationship between a Boston pizza empire and a tiny Brazilian town that helped build it.
